Hot Wheels Corkscrew Jump

The last time we saw anything from Hot Wheels, we witnessed Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy perform the Double Loop Dare at this year's X Games.

However, the toy company hasn't ceased its mission to recreate some of the stunts that we used to attempt with model cars in real life. Such as this - the corkscrew jump.

Unlike the Double Loop Dare - which was performed live - we're always slightly dubious about these performances. We're not saying that the corkscrew jump wasn't performed (after all, stuntmen nailed the exact same stunt back in 1974 during the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun), it's just that these Hot Wheels videos like to add a bit too much Hollywood.

Not that the Hot Wheels people seem that fussed - it's just a bit of fun. Demonstrated pretty aptly in the video below, when suddenly they need racing legend Mario Andretti in a jet-powered El Camino to help the car get up to speed...

Dirt Shark At The Monster Energy Cup

There was plenty more to this year's Monster Energy Cup than just motocross as Monster brought out all of their big name athletes to entertain the crowds: Ken Block, Vaughn Gittin Jr, Twitch and, of course, a bevy of Monster Energy Girls.

This great video from the guys at Dirt Shark gives us a great look behind the scenes at the MEC, plus a look at some of the wild action that was offer over the course of the day.

WORLDWIDE ENDURO DOMINATION FOR METZELER

Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres win World and British titles plus the notorious Erzberg Rally

Metzeler UK, Burton on Trent, 24 October 2012 – Metzeler continued their domination of the sport of Enduro both around the World and in the UK, with a champagne year on the ‘stages’ in 2012.

In the World Enduro Championship the Metzeler Six Days Extreme range of tyres proved themselves once again to be the stand out choice for successful competitors. In the Enduro 1 category (up to 125 cc 2-stroke or 250 cc 4-stroke machines) Antoine Meo dominated the class from fellow Metzeler runner Rodrig Thain.

The middle Enduro 2 class (250 cc 2-stroke or up to 450 cc 4-stroke) saw Metzeler rider Cristobal Guerrero gain the runner up slot but the final round saw local French Metzeler star Johnny Aubert take a double victory.

The big ‘thumpers’ of the Enduro 3 Open class were mastered by KTM factory rider Christophe Nambotin who won his title a round early, took the ‘Xtreme Test Award’ and the Mika Ahola “Brave One” Trophy- which rewards the fastest rider in the Enduro Tests

In the realm of Extreme Enduro young British Red Bull athlete Jonny Walker has really made a name for himself over the last couple of years. This season he won the prestigious and undeniably notorious Erzberg Hare Scramble in Austria. In a brutal battle of attrition, a total of 1,500 entrants are whittled down to a mere handful over the unforgiving cliffs and jagged rocks of the disused Erzberg mine. In these conditions Walker came out on top on his Six Days equipped factory KTM at it’s home event.

Closer to home, long time Metzeler rider David Knight powered his way to a unsurpassed tenth British Enduro Championship to cement his almost legendary status in this tough sport. Manx resident ‘Knighter’ is now 34 years old but again showed his young competitors controlled aggression and pace as he took a double victory in the final round in Hampshire.

Metzeler UK Marketing Manager Jim Worland commented, “It has been yet another truly dominant display for the class leading Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres, which just keep on winning. These street legal Enduro tyres are now the rubber of choice whether riding in Extreme competitions, club events or simply out on the trails for fun. We congratulate David and Jonny as they wave the flag for Britain and Metzeler in both traditional and Extreme events.”

MX REVIEW- PIRELLI CONTINUE OFF-ROAD DOMINATION WITH DOUBLE WORLD AND BRITISH TITLES PLUS WESTON BEACH RACE VICTORY

Pirelli took its World MX Championship tally to an incredible 58 titles as it won both MX1 and MX2 titles, whilst repeating the 'double' in the British series.

The dominant Italian marque also recently won the notoriously difficult Weston Beach Race to make 2012 a gold medal winning year.Earlier, KTM factory riders Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings powered to MX1 and MX2 FIM World MX Championships ahead of schedule at the penultimate round to give Pirelli their 57th and 58th World Titles. In a talent filled British Championship, HM Plant KTM UK pilots Kevin Strijbos and Elliott Banks Browne repeated the feat to make it a KTM-Pirelli double-double. In the Weston Beach Race, Herlings took on the dunes to take victory in front of 65,000 fans who braved the elements in this long standing endurance event. Ken De Dycker made it two Pirelli runners on the podium with a fine third place ‘on the beach’.The legendary Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres again took on and excelled in deep mud, energy sapping sand, loamy dirt and hard pack conditions around the World’s circuits to make this another year to remember for the Italian tyre giant.

Pirelli UK Racing Manager Jason Griffiths commented, “This really has been a fantastic year for Pirelli off-road with the company taking double top in both World and British Championships. Congratulations to Roger Magee and the team for clinching the British Championship double. Jeffrey Herlings first appearance at the Weston Beach Race was really the icing on the cake for Pirelli UK’s motocross schedule, with British fans able to witness his now legendary sand riding technique!”

Best Moments From The 2012 Motocross World Championship

Through various reasons, this years' Supercross and AMA 450 Motocross Championships may not have offers the level of excitement and unpredictability that they promised at the start but the same cannot be said for the 2012 FIM Motocross World Championships.

Take a look at some of the best moments in this highlight video and remember the good times, the muddy times and glimpse a few Monster Girls for good measure too...

Knees Down With The Underbone Scooter 2012 Suzuki Indoprix

After Freestylextreme found these great pictures from the 2012 Suzuki Indoprix of a bunch of Indonesian guys giving it the full, knee-down beans on a bunch of skinny-wheeled 'peds we had to find out more...
If you haven't heard of 'underbone' bikes before, these little 125cc bikes are insanely popular in the Phillipines. Essentially, the are scooters with a tubular frame and plastic, non-structural panels to give them a racy look. With an average power output from 7 - 16 bhp, we've also read that underbones are statistically responsible for 90% of all road accidents in Indonesia.
So, what better for the basis of a racing series? That said, you need only search for a few videos for 'Suzuki Raider 150' to discover that these little bikes are capable of some seriously impressive speeds when subject to modification.
Unlike the 125cc MotoGP races, for some reason we find these images highly amusing.
